Job Responsibilities:

Experience with designing and Implementing large MS SQL databases in High Availability Architecture

Experience Installing, administering, upgrading ,capacity planning , performance tuning and maintenance of MS SQL 2000 and 2005 DB (ranging from 1gb to 2TB) for Data warehousing, ecommerce, OLTP applications in Production, QA and Development environments.

Experience with monitoring and tuning the database for optimal performance and proactively managing all aspects of MS SQL databases i.e. space, users, growth, response, throughput, instance performance.

Skills Required:

Facebook and/or MySpace platform experience
2 years of experience of web applications development and optimization.
Familiarity a plus in one or more of the following: Linux, Apache, MySQL
Able to work under pressure and motivated to meet the deadline
Ability to think creatively and solve problems.
Database linking and migration knowledge.

Technical Skills:

Hands on Microsoft SQL 2000 and 2005
Very strong in SQL performance tuning and Database tuning.

Certifications
Microsoft Certified DBA - MCDBA

Databases MS SQL Server, MySQL and PostgreSQL.
Programming languages SQL, PL/SQL, VC++, C++, .Net managed code (C++, C#, VB), VBScript and Javascript
Operating Systems Linux, Unix, Windows (NT/2000/2003).
Tools IIS, ADO.net, SVN, Subversion, Nagios and sharepoint
